Get Cozy After a Day On the Water

By Emily Norfolk

You finally get home, shed off your ride-wear—workwear, or whatever-wear—and now it’s time to put the cozy-wear on. There’s no better feeling, especially after a long day on the water. Whether you’re doing laps on the jet ski or hitting jumps on the wakeboard, this is the best post-ride clothing worth investing in. From Vuori’s athleisure sweatsuits to Rag & Bone’s sweatpant jeans, you’re going to want to live in these six brands all the time.

Vuori’s loungewear gives other athleisure brands a run for their money. They have options for everyone—from their Ponto Performance Tees that can be seen on every single man at Equinox, to their Short Sleeve Maven Oversized Tee—and its tees and sweats are divine. For women, they just dropped the chicest sweats like Restore Ultra Wideleg Sweatpant in the colorway ‘java’ for the fall. Pair these pants with the Restore Mini Full Zip Hoodie for a comfy sweatsuit that is still ultra-stylish.

Leset’s motto is “no buttons, no zippers.” And after a day in a life jacket or straddling a jet ski, the last thing you want is to button or zip up your bottoms. If you want to embrace comfort, while still looking effortlessly chic, Leset’s sets are the best option. Their super soft fabrics and matching sets can be dressed up and down, automatically making you feel put together. From silk sets like the Barb Wide Leg Pant and the Barb Shell top to classics like the Nando Lounge Pant and Nando Square Neck Tank, you can’t go wrong. Pair your (Le)set with a strappy heel or a slipper depending on your vibe for the night, and be prepared to get tons of compliments. Or opt for a casual throw-on dress like the Pointelle Square Neck Mini Dress that doubles as a nightgown and an errands-with-flats dress.

Known for their performance fabrics that actually perform, Rhone specializes in pieces that transition seamlessly from activity to recovery mode—perfect for when you’re fresh off the boat. For guys, the Commuter Pant is a game-changer: they’re technical enough to handle whatever the day throws at you, but soft enough to sink into after a long session on the water. Pair them with their Reign Tee for the ultimate cozy-but-elevated vibe. While Rhone started as a menswear brand, they’re now dubbing in womenswear, offering stretchy joggers and ultra-soft tees that bring the same technical coziness to your post-ride routine. Their Highline Shorts are also clutch for warmer climates—throw them on with a basic tee and you’re ready for lakeside hangs or casual evening plans.

If you’re looking for something a little cozier and thicker, Eterne has the juiciest sweatsuits. In neutrals and fun colors for Fall like oxblood, their sweat sets are the epitome of athleisure. Take a post-ride jaunt in the Boyfriend Pocket Sweatpant or get cheeky cocktails in the Carrie Dress (I have this exact dress and I’ve phased it out from Summer strolls into a nightly nightgown). If you’re in a warmer climate, go for something super on trend like the Rib Stitch Bloomer. Regardless of the style, you’ll be comfortable in this super stretchy cotton-jersey material.

One of my tried-and-true loungewear staples is Reformation. They’re gold ole’ reliable in my books, and never disappoint when it comes to sweats or knits. They recently dropped their Nico Classic Polo Sweatshirt, which is giving ‘could wear to work’ but also, most likely going to wear while lounging on the couch. Pair this polo sweatshirt with the Leon Short for a cozy post-ride fit, or throw on some flats or a loafer and head out to casual aprés ride cocktails. If you’re looking for something a little trendier, this bold side-stitching is SO back and Ref’s Julien Poplin Pant is the perfect way to get in on this trend.

If you’re not yet on the Miramar train then this is your sign. Miramars are Rag & Bone’s faux jeans—aka they look like jeans, but feel like sweats. They’re so comfy that I’ve literally fallen asleep in them on multiple occasions. If you’re going hard in the wake, go for the drawstring wide-leg or jogger style to give you extra comfort while you recover. If you’re looking for something that can transition you from a casual day at the office to a work dinner, the straight pants go great with loafers or nice sneakers.
